Tide referral code not working
If REFER200 (or any Tide code) is being rejected, work through these checks in order — most signup failures are one of the first three.
1. Check the code is exactly REFER200
All caps, no spaces, no zero/letter-O confusion. The correct code is REFER200 (the digits two-zero-zero). Re-type it manually rather than pasting if you're unsure.
2. You may already be a Tide customer
REFER200 is for new customers only. If you've ever opened a Tide account — even one that was closed — the system may reject the referral. There's no workaround for this other than Tide's discretion.
3. You're trying to use an old code
Codes such as REFER75 and REFER175 are no longer live. See offer history. Use REFER200.
4. App or browser issues
- Close and reopen the Tide app, or switch from web signup to the app.
- Disable VPNs and ad blockers, which sometimes break referral attribution.
- Try signup in a private/incognito window.
5. Eligibility / business-type issues
Tide doesn't accept every business type. If your application is rejected outright, the referral can't be applied. See eligibility checker.
6. Still stuck — contact Tide
Use the in-app support chat. Quote REFER200 and the exact error message. If support confirms the code can't be added, see forgot to enter the code.

Why does the code box not appear during signup?+
Tide sometimes hides the field if you arrived via a referral link (the code is attached automatically). Look for a 'referred by' confirmation rather than a field.
Can I use REFER200 if I'm already a Tide customer?+
No. REFER200 is for new Tide customers only.
