Forgot to enter the Tide referral code

If you opened a Tide account without REFER200 attached, the cashback is usually forfeited — but here's exactly what to check before you give up.

Step 1 — Check whether REFER200 was actually attached

  • Open the Tide app · Settings · Refer a friend / Rewards.
  • Look for any "you were referred by" or "referral active" indicator.
  • Check your signup confirmation email for any mention of REFER200.

If it's there, you're fine — follow the normal cashback timeline.

Step 2 — Contact Tide support immediately

In the Tide app, open the support chat and ask whether REFER200 can be added to your account. Be polite, give your account email, and quote the code. The sooner you ask (ideally on the same day you opened the account, before using the card or saver), the higher the chance.

Step 3 — If support says no

You have a few options, none guaranteed:

  • Close the unused account and reopen via our REFER200 link — only safe if you haven't used the account. Tide may flag repeat applications.
  • Accept the loss if you've already started using the account. Forcing a closure can affect future applications.

How to avoid this next time

  1. Always start signup from a referral link — our button attaches REFER200 automatically.
  2. If you sign up cold, paste REFER200 into the "Promo code / referral code" field before tapping continue.
  3. Screenshot the confirmation step so you have proof the code was attached.

Frequently asked questions

Can Tide add the referral code after I've signed up?+

Tide's policy is that the code must be attached at signup. Support sometimes makes exceptions, especially if you ask quickly, but they are not obliged to.

Will closing and reopening my account work?+

It can, but Tide may block duplicate or near-duplicate applications. Only consider this if you haven't used the new account at all.

Is there a different code I can use instead?+

REFER200 is the current Tide referral programme. Old codes (REFER75, REFER175) are no longer live — see our offer history page.

I used a different code by mistake. What now?+

Only one referral applies per account. If a different code was attached, you'll get that offer (if any) and cannot switch to REFER200.
