About Tide Referral Guide
Who we are
Tide Referral Guide is an independent UK guide to Tide business accounts, run by Faisal Nisar, a UK-based founder who opened a Tide account in 2020 for his own consultancy. We are not Tide and have no contractual obligation to recommend it. We exist to help UK sole traders, freelancers, contractors and limited company directors decide whether Tide is the right business account for them — and, if it is, to claim the best current offer (today, REFER200 for up to £200 cashback).
Why we exist
Search "Tide referral code" and you'll find dozens of pages still promoting expired codes like REFER75, REFER100 or REFER175. Some haven't been touched in years. Readers paste these codes at checkout, get a generic welcome bonus (or nothing at all) and assume that's the best Tide will offer.
We maintain a single, authoritative resource: one current code, one set of eligibility rules, one last-checked date on every commercial page. When Tide changes the offer, we change the site — usually the same day.
What we cover
- The current Tide offer — code, value, eligibility and how to claim it correctly.
- Account types and fees — Free, Plus, Pro and Cashback plans, with transparent monthly cost and transfer limits.
- Use-case guides — Tide for sole traders, freelancers, contractors and limited companies.
- Honest comparisons — Tide vs Starling, Monzo Business and Revolut Business, including where Tide loses.
- Safety and regulation — how Tide works with ClearBank, what FSCS protection actually covers and where the limits sit.
How we make money
If you open a Tide account via our link or with the code REFER200, we may receive a referral reward from Tide. This does not change the offer or fees you receive — the cashback is identical whether you arrive via our link, a Google ad or a friend's WhatsApp message.
Referral revenue lets us keep the site free, ad-light and update it weekly. It also creates an obvious bias risk, which is why our editorial policy exists: we never invent ratings, fabricate user reviews, hide trade-offs, or recommend Tide for situations where a competitor is clearly better.
What we won't do
- Recommend Tide to users who need branch access, cash deposits at scale, or FSCS protection above £85,000 without flagging the trade-off.
- Run paid placements disguised as editorial.
- Accept payment from Tide (or any competitor) for positive coverage.
- Use scarcity tactics, fake countdown timers or invented "limited spots".
Contact and corrections
If a fact on this site is wrong, an offer has changed, or you think a competitor would serve a reader better, please tell us via the contact page. We action verified corrections within 5 working days and credit the reader who flagged the issue (with permission).
Independent introducer disclosure: this site is not Tide and is not operated by Tide. If you sign up using our link or the code REFER200, we may receive a referral reward. Tide controls account approval, eligibility and cashback validation. This is not financial advice. Always check the latest Tide terms before applying. Last checked 16 June 2026.
